Durham Forest

The Durham Forest is a fairly large area. This week, we are hiking the
Walker Tract.
Directions

Take Highway 401 east to Brock Road in Pickering. This is
Exit 399. If you hit Brock Street in Whitby, you have gone way
too far.

Drive north past Claremont to Copper's Corners, and turn right onto
Regional Road 21. Regional Road 21 is Goodwood Road.

Drive about four kilometers to Concession 7. There will
be a Durham Forest sign on the right hand side.

Turn right, south, and drive six kilometers.

The parking area is just past the Glen Major Forest sign, about a
kilometer past the Glen Major Presbyterian Church. Park in the
parking area on the left hand, east side of the road.
If you reach the Pickering/Uxbridge townline, you have gone too far.
Remarks
The hike will start at 11:00am. This is a moderately difficult hike
with some hills, about 10 to 12km long.
