Rattlesnake Point

It has been raining all day Saturday. The trails will be muddy, and too dangerous for escarpment hiking. A couple of us will show up at Yonge and York Mills and at Rattlesnake Point to advise anyone who shows up that we have canceled.

Directions

From Yonge and York Mills.

  1. Take Highway 401 west to Highway 25 at Milton.
  2. Turn south.
  3. At Steeles, turn right (west).
  4. At Appleby Line turn left (south).
  5. After a couple of kilometres, the parking lot is on your right.
  6. If you get to the Niagara Escapement hill (road goes down and twists and turns) you have gone too far.

There is an admission fee to the park, which you can share with your passengers from carpooling if you have any. We will meet in the upper parking lot, and we will try to get going at 11:15am.

Remarks

This hike is level 2 with some serious hills and some excellent lookouts. Bring a camera.
