This is Thanksgiving weekend, and we are hiking on Monday, not Sunday.

Carpooling

If you are driving, and it is at all convenient for you to do so, please show up at Yonge and York Mills. This is a win-win situation. You can have company, a navigator and gas money. You can combine with other drivers and save wear and tear on some of your cars. It is good for the environment, and some of our destinations have marginal parking.

Directions

Go west on Highway 401 past the airport and Highway 10 to Mississauga Road.
Go north on Mississauga Road
Drive past Steeles Avenue, Huttonville, Highway 7 and Mayfield Road to King Street. This intersection has a traffic light.
Turn left and go down a steep hill into the village of Terra Cotta.
Drive past the Terra Cotta Inn on the left to a three way stop sign.
Turn right off of King and drive 2km north to Terra Cotta Conservation Area on your left hand side.

The entrance fee is five bucks. There probably is no one to collect this, so there is an honour box. Bring exact change. They run out of envelopes, so bring one of these as well.

Notes

The Hike starts at 11:15 am. It runs for ten to twelve K. This is of intermediate difficulty with a fairly fast pace, and hilly sections.
