Dundas Valley is down near Hamilton. It is a lovely park with lots of hills, and a number of waterfalls. We are not sure yet what route will be taken.

We have moved the hike date from Sunday the fourteenth to Saturday the thirteenth.

Sunday is Mother's Day.

Directions

  1. Take Highway 401 West.
  2. Exit Highway 401 and Highway 403 towards Hamilton. Highway 403 leads to QEW west.
  3. Stay on QEW West and keep to the right until you come to Highway 403 Hamilton exit. The left exit is Niagara Falls -- wrong way!
  4. When entering Hamilton, take the Main Street West exit (69-A).
  5. Turn left at the lights onto Main Street.
  6. At the next lights, do not turn left. The name of the street changes to Osler Drive.
  7. After approxmately 4 kilometers, you will go down a small hill and come to Governors road. There is a traffic light, and there is a building with a large clock, just past it.
  8. Turn left onto Governors Rd.
  9. After approxmately 3.5 kilometers along Governors Rd. you will see a Conservation area sign which is the entrance to Dundas Valley . The entrance is on the left hand side.
  10. Drive approxmately one kilometer to the end of the road and park in the lot with the large Dundas Valley sign.
  11. Walk up the hill and meet at the old Railway Station and Trail Centre. There is a sign indicating 200 meters.

Google Maps: 650 Governors Rd, Dundas, ON L9H 5E3

The hike will start from there at approximately 11:30.

Remarks

There is $11.00 admission per vehicle, considerably more if you bring a horse, less if you are a senior. In the distant past, this has been an honour system with envelopes into which you insert your money. This is another reason to carpool from Yonge and York Mills.
