Kelso is a Halton Region conservation area.
Kelso has tall cliffs which have been the scene of fatal accidents!
Be careful around the edges. Do not cross barriers. Keep an eye out for careless hikers. Don't rush along the trails. Do what the hike leader tells you. We don't want accidents.
This is an escarpment hike, and hiking boots are strongly recommended.
From our meeting point at Yonge and York Mills.
The address is 5301 Steeles Ave West, Milton, Ontario. There is an entrance fee of $6.75 per person. We start at 11:00am.
This is a a shorter hike with lots of variety and great views. We will start at the Kelso summit for a scenic descent to the Glen Eden lake and picnic area. We will then circle the park, ski hill and camping area on our way back to the cars. The hike will run approximately four hours.
Ned Devine's Irish Pub, 575 Ontario Street South, Milton, Ontario, (905.864.6794), turned out to be an excellent place to finish of a day of hiking. This is Derry Road and Ontario Street, on the north west corner. Here it is on Google Maps.
